The first piece is a heavyweight hoodie, and it is being designed in the open — decisions included.
Why this first
A hoodie is the hardest easy thing to make. Everyone sells one, almost nobody makes one worth keeping. Which makes it the right test: if we cannot justify every decision on a hoodie, we have no business making anything else.
Decisions so far
Heavy fabric, no compromise. Around 480 g/m² French terry. It costs more and ships heavier. It is also the difference between a piece that holds its shape for years and one that sags after a season.
No drawcords. They fray, they tangle, they are the first thing to look cheap. The hood works without them.
Cuffs and hem in the same fabric as the body. Most hoodies switch to a different, thinner rib here. We are not doing that.
A cut that narrows at the hem. Boxy and oversized through the chest and shoulders, drawn in slightly at the bottom, so it sits rather than hangs.
Still open
The size and placement of the chest print, the print method, and the final hood shape. Those come next.
